concrete leveling & void filling

What is Concrete Leveling/Raising/Lifting?

Concrete leveling (aka mudjacking or slabjacking) is the process of lifting concrete/cement by pumping material under the sunken or settled slabs. Erosion and settling of the foundation under the slabs is very common and can be caused by a number of reasons. Our company offers slabjacking with 100% limestone and we also offer foam, to restore the foundation and pitch of concrete slabs. The process is fairly simple and depending on the size of the area, most projects are completed in just one day, typically within a few hours! What are the benefits of concrete leveling?

Aside from the process being very simple and in most cases doesn’t require a permit to complete, there are many benefits to slabjacking if it is a solution for you!

▪️Cost Effective – Concrete leveling is a fraction of the cost of replacing the concrete

▪️ Quick – Most projects are completed in just a few hours

▪️ Preventative – Lifting & supporting the slab foundation can prevent further damage to the slabs themselves. In addition, correcting slab pitch can assist with proper water drainage, keeping your nearby structures safe from water penetration and damage

▪️ Trip Hazard Removal – Keeping walkways, driveways and entrances free of trips hazards not only makes things safer for pedestrian traffic but also helps in the winter months, making shoveling and snow blowing a breeze

▪️Curb Appeal – Slabjacking is a great way to increase curb appeal whether you are planning to stay or sell. If you are planning to sell, depending on the buyer’s mortgage, many home inspections will flag trip hazards that are as small as 1/4″ to be fixed

The Process of Cement Leveling

Ever wonder how concrete leveling works? At Detroit Concrete Leveling we make the experience smooth and painless. Here is our tried and true process. Here’s how concrete leveling works:

  1. Assessment: First, the concrete surface is inspected to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the sinking. The free assessment includes identifying any underlying soil issues, such as soil erosion, settling or water accumulation, that may have caused the concrete to sink. If the assessment results in concrete leveling being a suitable solution, a price estimate is provided for the repairs.
  2. Drilling: Once the assessment is complete and the estimate is approved, the repairs will be scheduled. The first step in the repair process is small holes are drilled into the sunken concrete surface.
  3. Injection: Next, a specialized material, such as a mixture of limestone and water, or polyurethane foam, is pumped through the drilled holes under the concrete surface. The material fills the voids using hydraulic pressure or expansive foam, it lifts the concrete surface back to its original position.
  4. Finishing: After the concrete has been raised, the area is cleaned up and the holes are filled and patched to match your existing concrete as best as possible.

Concrete leveling is an effective and cost-efficient way to repair sunken concrete surfaces. It can help prevent further damage and improve the safety and appearance of your property.
